Disaster Preparedness for
the Entire Family

September is Disaster Preparedness Month — a great time for families to take steps to make sure they are prepared for earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, winter storms, home fires and other unexpected events. Start by talking with your family about the types of disasters that can happen where you live and develop an emergency communications plan. Prepare "Ready-to-Stay" kit and a "Ready-to-Go" kit in case you have to stay inside for a few days, or have to leave in a hurry.

Use the following checklists to create your kits and ensure that your family stays safe during an emergency.
